S2BH was formed by award-winning architects Steve Buetow and Scott Helmes to develop functional art made from recycled and industrial materials. Their process is collaborative: while friends for over 40 years, it was only in December of 2011 that they began working together exploring creative ideas. Steve Buetow is a residential architect and fabricator with a long history of making things (including a race car in his dining room). Steve lives in Saint Paul. Scott Helmes is an architect, artist, photographer, poet and designer with a studio in the Thorp building in Minneapolis.
The S2BH bowls and objects are handmade of Corian®, a solid surface material. They are durable, food safe and washable. Because they are made of scrap or remnants, they may contain slight surface variations.
