The Perfect Initiate

The first monograph by twenty four year old artist Emilio Tamez, exploring her archive and introducing her visual language to a new audience. This '“mixtape” as she calls it, distills and delivers her style and voice in a single volume. Images both emblematic of the Tamez universe and never-before-seen are presented in full color. The nuances of love and lust, sin, subversive power, prayer, meditations on femininity, infatuation, devotion, lunacy, and joy are all themes Tamez explores in the first installment of her world of publications.
