St. Paul–based artist Chris Larson received his BFA from Bethel College and his MFA from Yale University. Larson is known by many for his 2013 work Celebration/Love/Loss, a sculpture and performance piece created for the Northern Spark festival in which he built and then burned a full-scale replica of a Marcel Breuer–designed house located on a St. Paul bluff. Prior to that high profile project, Larson was well known in the Twin Cities for a range of artworks—many equally large in scale and vision. His work is included in the Walker Art Center collection, and has been featured in group shows such as Sculpture on Site and The Spectacular of Vernacular, both organized by the Walker, and most recently at the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
