Known in his home state of Minnesota for the Irene Hixon Whitney Bridge, a prominent feature of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center, Siah Armajani has an international reputation as a sculptor and a proponent of public art. A wood-relief print of this bridge, along with six others he has designed for sites in the United States and abroad, are featured in this limited-edition volume. Each print was made from blocks constructed in the artist’s studio and handprinted on a gatefold in color. The prints are supplemented by photographs and drawings as well as texts from John Ashberry, Herman Melville, Martin Heidegger, and the artist.
